1. How it works
After you accept these terms, your Referrals page shows a personal link and a 10-character code. When a new person signs up through your link or code, their account is attached to you. If they later subscribe, you may earn a commission on their first payment, as described below. The program is run by Saswata Subhra Sengupta, the operator of Meldstead.
2. Who is eligible
The referred person gets one 30-day Essential trial with no payment card, in place of the regular 7-day Essential trial. It is available only to a genuinely new account: one created within the previous 24 hours, with no earlier trial, no earlier subscription and no earlier payment. The referral must be attached when the account is created, including when the email is confirmed later. It cannot be added afterwards.
The referral trial includes Essential workspace features only. It includes no AI actions, and no Claude connector access. A referral is not eligible, and earns nothing, if it is a self-referral, a circular referral (you were referred by someone you referred), a duplicate or alternate account, an address that is the same inbox as yours (for example with a plus tag or extra dots), or an account that shares a payment identity with yours.
3. How commission is calculated
You may earn 20% of the referred person's first completed paid subscription payment. The amount is calculated on the payment after discounts and credits, excluding tax, using the payout amounts reported by our payment provider, Paddle. Renewals, upgrades, additional seats and every later payment earn nothing. A payment of zero (for example, one fully covered by a discount or credit) does not use up the first payment. The referred person's price is never increased because of a referral.
Commission is recorded in US dollars. If a payment is reported in another payout currency, it is held for manual review.
4. Holding period, refunds and disputes
Each commission is held for 30 days after the payment before it becomes available. If the payment is refunded in full or in part, or lost to a dispute or chargeback, the whole commission is reversed. While a dispute is open, the commission (and any withdrawal containing it) is held. If a commission is reversed after it was already paid to you, the amount is recorded as a negative balance and deducted from your next withdrawal.
5. Withdrawals and payouts
You can request a withdrawal once your available balance is at least US$20. Payouts are made manually by PayPal or Wise to the email you provide. Every withdrawal is reviewed and approved by Meldstead before it is paid, and may be held, rejected or canceled. You can have one withdrawal in progress at a time and can cancel it until it is approved. Payout fees charged by PayPal, Wise or your bank, and currency conversion costs, are your responsibility and may be deducted from the amount sent.
6. Taxes
You are responsible for any income tax, withholding, reporting and other taxes on commission you receive. We may ask for tax or identity details before paying, may withhold amounts where the law requires it, and may decline to pay in places where we cannot do so lawfully. Commission is not a salary and does not create an employment, partnership or agency relationship.
7. Disclosure and prohibited promotion
When you share your link, say clearly that you may earn a reward if the person subscribes. You must not: send spam or unsolicited bulk messages; use misleading claims or imply you are Meldstead; bid on or buy ads for Meldstead brand terms; use incentivized, fake or purchased sign-ups; create accounts for yourself or people you control; post your link on coupon or deal sites; or promote in any way that is unlawful or harms others.
8. Abuse prevention and suspension
We check referrals for abuse using account, email and payment details, and may use manual review. We may withhold, hold or reverse a commission, cancel a referral trial, reject a withdrawal, or suspend or close a referral account if we reasonably suspect a breach of these terms or fraud. Where we do so, we will explain the reason when we can.
9. Changes and ending the program
We may change the commission rate, trial length, holding period, minimum withdrawal or these terms, or end the program, at any time. Changes apply to referrals made after the change is published. Commission already earned under the earlier terms is still handled under them, unless it must be changed to meet the law or to correct an error. The version you accepted is recorded on your account.
